All of our depots are run by a management team. Many of them started their careers as bus drivers and have been promoted to management. Managers run our operating and engineering parts of the business. We also have people who support the depots with admin and everything that’s needed to help our buses to run.

Graduates
Our graduate scheme offers graduates the chance to work their way around the business, working on placements in different teams to learn about Arriva as a whole. During the programme, graduates may get the chance to attend international events and training modules, work on tasks with other graduates and meet Arriva’s senior leaders. They’ll get coaching, career support and have their own mentor who will track their development.

Apprentices
We work with schools and other education providers across Europe to offer great development opportunities for our apprentices. They receive specialised training and mentoring by a senior specialist. Our operations managers support our general managers and work closely with the rest of the team to help the depot run smoothly and safely. They make sure everything is compliant with regulations and that the depot is meeting all its targets.
They are responsible for hiring and managing bus drivers and controlling costs, plus representing the company at meetings and with key stakeholders.
